A bed bug is about the size, shape and colour of an apple seed. They are three millimetres long and oval-shaped, with reddish-brown colouring. When found hiding in the seams of mattresses, the insects are visible to the naked eye. They only emerge to feed late at night. Their bite is similar to a mosquito bite, leaving behind an itchy welt in the spot where they drew blood from the skin.
If you should happen to find one of these critters in your home, don't panic.... actually, don't do anything until you call me first! I've dealt with some very bad infestations over the years, and I guarantee total elimination with proper preparation by the homeowner.
